At wtfoxtrot.de nobody has to think twice about which toilet door is the right one — gender simply isn’t a factor. What was missing, though: a proper place for period products. Tampons and pads had only a makeshift shelf to call home.

I wanted to fix that.

From offcuts of oak parquet flooring and Alu-Dibond I built this dispenser: space for over 100 tampons and around 40 pads, two dispensing slots on the front, and a hinged lid for refilling. Period products should be just as visible and unremarkable as the paper towels on the wall opposite.

While looking into the broader topic I came across @its.periodically, who have dedicated themselves entirely to making period products a standard fixture in every workplace.

The project has since had ripple effects beyond the office: Daniel, an Austrian friend, was inspired by it and created menstromat.com — a service that supplies businesses with period products.
